Rafting in the Valnerina Valley

The Marmore Waterfall, the second highest in Europe with a drop of 165 metres, was artificially built by the Romans in the 3rd century BC to solve the problem of flooding in the valley. What creates this incredible spectacle is the leap of the Velino River over the Nera River, which flows in the lower valley. Today, the waterfall can be visited within a Nature Park that has trails and paths along the mountainside. Lake Piediluco, located a few kilometres from the waterfall, is immersed in the green Umbrian hills and, on hot summer days, offers the chance to regenerate thanks to the mild and cool climate of the area. You can enjoy the beauty of the lake thanks to the boat tour, a mini cruise that allows you to admire the entire area. There is also a small fishing village along the lake.
